Deep dive
Treatwell (treatwell.com) and Skaala are two different product categories with different roles in a salon's customer funnel. Treatwell is Europe's largest marketplace for beauty and wellness treatments — it drives new customers to salons via the marketplace and booking page. Skaala is a fully AI-driven receptionist plus operations platform: the AI answers the phone, books appointments, updates CRM, and runs Stripe payments — in Swedish, Norwegian, English, and 70+ other languages. Last checked 13 May 2026.
We have not independently verified Treatwell's current commission and pricing model as of 13 May 2026 — see treatwell.com for their own partner page. Treatwell uses a commission-based business model; Skaala is a SaaS subscription with a monthly fee and included minutes (599 NOK/mo Essential with 50 minutes, 1,499 NOK/mo Business with 400). The two models are not directly comparable. Both Skaala plans include one local number per team, booking, CRM, and a 7-day trial. Stripe payments come with Business.
The complement pattern is often the right one. Keep Treatwell for marketplace discovery (customers find you there) and put Skaala in front on the phone as the AI front line that captures calls — both from Treatwell leads who phone in and from returning customers. They solve different parts of the customer funnel.
Honest bottom line: Treatwell is the right choice for salons that want marketplace distribution and accept the commission model for acquisition. Skaala is the right choice for salons that want an AI answering the phone 24/7 with booking and CRM in the base product (Stripe payments on Business). Many run both. Last checked 13 May 2026.
